A tri-campus core team of University of Washington faculty members, staff and undergraduate students committed to developing an initial framework for this initiative during winter and spring quarters 2024. Much of that team, plus new members, have continued into deeper design work during the 2024-25 academic year.

The UW’s deans and chancellors supported identification and recruitment of core team members, each of whom held interdisciplinary expertise relevant to this topic. The schools and colleges represented in the core team include Arts & Sciences, Built Environments, Business (Seattle and Tacoma), Education, Engineering, Information, Interdisciplinary Arts & Sciences (Bothell), Law, Nursing, Public Health, Public Policy and Social Work.
