Our approach

We build capacity for civic health by creating norms of mutual respect and public-spirited responsibility, fostering civic spaces and institutions that adapt to challenges without eroding legitimacy to enable shared problem-solving and deepening cultural practices of bridging across difference without requiring an “other.”

In a healthy civic society, people share a commitment to the common good by disagreeing without contempt, participating in civic and political life and working together to craft solutions — including through government and non-profits — that create tangible improvements in everyday life.
