We believe that restoring civic health starts with making sure that tomorrow’s community and civic leaders are informed, connected and equipped to build trust and solve problems together.
As a public university, the UW has a unique opportunity to help our students cultivate the skills to engage in dialogue, navigate disagreement and collaborate across diverse perspectives, experiences and beliefs. While students already have access to many opportunities to build communication, collaboration, and critical thinking skills, we aim to expand and make these opportunities more accessible and affordable for all. By making civic education and engagement available to every student, we will prepare the next generation of civic-minded community members and leaders to work across differences and build more connected, responsive societies.
